I am thrilled to introduce you to an incredible artist who took a leap of faith to follow her passion—and her story is nothing short of inspiring. Back in 2015, she was a sophomore at the University of Southern Mississippi, studying nursing, when she realized something wasn’t right. The passion she once had for nursing was gone, leaving her feeling lost and out of place. After some soul-searching and advice from loved ones, she made the bold decision to drop out of school and move back home. She found a full-time job, but even then, something was still missing. Then, one night, everything changed. In a dream, she saw herself on stage, singing in front of a crowd. Singing had always been a love of hers, but she never believed she could do it professionally. That dream sparked something in her, and just two weeks later, she met vocal coach Stephanie Stubbs, who helped her build her confidence and hone her talent. Within a month, she was in Atlanta recording her first single, New Thang, with producer Bruce Billups. The song was a hit in the southern soul genre, but she knew her heart was in R&B—the soulful, emotional music she grew up loving. From there, her journey took off. She connected with rapper Zeus and producer Dilla, wrote her first song, Vibing, and soon after, released her debut EP, TEA (Time, Effort, Anticipation). The EP gained traction, and she started booking shows, building her name in the industry. In 2018, she joined The Consortium MMT in Memphis, an organization founded by Stax Records legend David Porter. There, she sharpened her songwriting, performance skills, and learned the business side of music—marketing, publishing, and more. It was also where she met producers Craylon Davis and Jamaal Franklin, who became key collaborators on her latest EP, Emotions. Created during the pandemic, Emotions is a deeply personal project that reflects her growth as an artist and as a person.Through setbacks, disappointments, and challenges, she’s kept going, fueled by faith and determination. Her story is a testament to the power of taking risks and following your dreams. She believes that risk-taking is essential to growth and reaching your full potential—and her journey proves it.Join us as we dive into her incredible story, her creative process, and the lessons she’s learned along the way. If you’ve ever doubted whether you should take that leap of faith, this conversation will inspire you to go for it.
